To me, May feels yellow.  Maybe it’s because the sun is finally starting to shine.  Maybe it’s the flowers.  Maybe the joy of warmer weather invokes a happy yellow energy for me.  Whatever the reason, I say let’s follow the yellow energy and focus on the solar plexus chakra this month.

I don’t know that there are many people who could not use work on their solar plexus. Just in our group there have been several mentions of worthiness, self-esteem, and personal power.  On top of that, when you go through the breakup of a relationship, your solar plexus can take a beating.

Those emotions and all of that energy can get stuck. If something traumatic or a betrayal happened, you can turn that inward and wonder “what’s wrong with me?” or “how could I be so stupid.” You can also find yourself thinking that the future can’t possibly hold anything good for you because you wasted so much time.  You’re older now, perhaps not in as good of shape as when you were younger.

Let’s just say that getting older and having to start again don’t always do good things for your self-confidence and personal power. Additionally, the older you get the scarier it can be to start over.  Or to take big chances. It is so much easier to stay in your comfort zone.

When you end a relationship or you make a fresh start in life, you have to transition to being on your own, which can be scary and throw you off balance.

However, as you begin reclaiming your independence and power, your confidence will improve. With each little victory, you begin to see that perhaps it isn’t too late for you. Keep putting one foot in front of the other and watch your solar plexus chakra begin to shine.

This chakra is your strength, your vitality, your ego, your willpower. It’s how you persevere. It’s not just about doing the thing, it’s about knowing you CAN do the thing. It’s associated with personal identity, self-esteem, and a sense of purpose in life.

Your solar plexus chakra governs the fire element inside of you. Fire brings physical action and then transformation. Having the courage to allow yourself to grow means taking action to leave behind what no longer works for you. This could be in your career, romantic relationships, friendships, where you live, addictions, family relationships…any area of life.

When your inner fire is strong, you are courageous enough to build the life that works for you and feeds your soul. You can dare to live in alignment with who you are. You can know things will be okay because even if the plan doesn’t go as expected, you know you are capable of finding solutions and making the best of things.

You can trust yourself.  I can trust myself.  Let’s work on lighting that inner fire and standing in our power.
